A personal piece inspired by my last trip to Europe back in 2019. My desire was to create an environment that captured the atmosphere of Venice through the design of a bold, geometric exhibition building along the canal. I drew a lot of inspiration from Italian Rationalist architecture which focused on scale, symmetry and proportions.
I was also heavily inspired by old photos from various world fairs from the past, and in particular the ‘Exposition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industries’ of 1925, which gave rise to the Deco movement and it’s artistic architecture.
